This poster depicts the battle of General Braddock, which took place along the Monongahela River on July 9, 1755. The battle resulted in a British defeat by French and Indian forces, with General Braddock receiving a fatal wound. George Washington performed a short eulogy at Braddock's burial (details provided on print reverse).
The original painting is on display at The State Historical Society of Wisconsin, 816 State Street, Madison, Wisconsin.
